Monsters & Riddles




This wildly inventive animated short was produced by the Armenian director 

Robert Sahakyants in 1983. The story was inspired by The Talking Fish
a fairytale written by the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumayan
Discovered thanks to Your Daily Cartoon.

  1. Ah, I really liked that. I remember this fairytale, but didn't know it was by an Armenian poet. I used to read fairytales when I was a kid. I read all the books in my school's libraries. So many of them seem to be about doing good deeds and having compassion for people and animals which turns out to be a gift in return when least expected. Really great, Laura!
