Ganesha's Sweet Tooth for Chronicle Books, out next September, at the Bologna Book Fair. 

The rich iconography, vibrant colors and spiritual exuberance of Indian art

 have long been an inspiration for scores of Western artists. 

And has there ever been a more endearing God than Ganesha?
