First, a short update on Emma's health for you who have shown interest and concern:
sadly last week her belly became very swollen, and yesterday we went to the vet, who drained
over a liter of fluids. We were hoping that this would make her feel more comfortable,
but instead she looks more miserable than ever. While I am stuck at home with a lot
of spare time, waiting for the inevitable, I have to say that my web activities are
a very welcome pastime. So here goes today's selection of eye candy.
I haven't been able to locate much info on V. Elizabeth Cadie, except that she illustrated children's books
I know, that's not much at all, so if any of my readers is able contribute more data, I'll be grateful.
In the meanwhile, you may enjoy her lovely, funny, elegant and very colorful creatures and patterns.

BonBon and BonBonette - the Story of Santa Claus's Younger Brother, 1924
The Cat Whose Whiskers Slipped and Other Stories, 1925
The Turtle Whose Snap Unfastened, 1927
Daddy Gander, 1928
This is supposed to be one of her most beautiful books,
but I couldn't find any decent reproductions of its pages on the web.
If I do, you'll be the first to know!
