Performers, Acrobats & Clowns

The last act of this year's Circus festival is an episode from the very charming and funny
2003 tv series Creature Comforts created by Nick Parks at Aardman Animations.
The original concept utilizes bits of interviews with members of the public,
whose voices are then used to animate a long series of animal characters.
Especially interesting to those of you who can understand English,
since the best thing about these shorts is the humorous matching
between the words spoken and the situations portrayed.

Mad Men & Crazy Critters - Piatti und Plakat

1952

From the intricate hairlines of Etsuko Fukaya's etchings
we move to the bold strokes and colors of Celestino Piatti.
These twenty ads spanning twenty-five years
are just a small selection from the 300 posters
created by the prolific Swiss illustrator and designer.

In the Garden of the Mind

I imagine that many of Animalarium's readers are already familiar with the celebrated
German illustrator Olaf Hajek, but I couldn't resist posting some of his works.
I can't get enough of these luscious paintings, so unique and
full of life, color and artistic inspirations!

Most of these images were created for numerous corporate and editorial clients.
For more info, check out the interesting interview on Sprayblog and the video
posted by Gestalten, which last year published a monograph on Hajek's work.
