Sunday Safari – A head full of creatures
I want to thank all who have contributed to Animalarium so far
with their generosity in sharing artworks, materials, comments, and suggestions.
And to all of you who have suggested new interesting artists and links,
and to the artist friends that I am planning to feature, please be patient...
while wandering down the long and winding paths of the world wild web
I have come across such a wealth of varied and interesting subjects
that it's going to take some time and effort to sort them all out!

Here are a few of the themes that I'd like to explore in the upcoming months:
more Vintage Russia, Polish artists, Italian modernists, Japanese illustration,
Therianthropes, Art Nouveau & Art Deco animals, Animals in fairytales,
Composite animals, Calligraphic animals, Animal Alphabets,
Beetles & Butterflies, Winter and Water birds,
Creative Taxidermy, Monsters and Dragons,
Mad Men and Kitties, Ladies and pets...
as you can see, animals are taking over my head!

Red Roars and Green Growls
For a bold, wild and colorful beginning of the new year,
I have chosen the fierce but friendly beasts of Hubert Hilscher (1924-1999).
Portrait for Hilscher exhibition by Agneska Koscisz
I haven't been able to find much information about this Polish poster artist,
except that he won awards and was an AGI member.
He clearly enjoyed playing with lively patterns and simple, strong compositions...
