I love the colorful and exhuberant creatures produced in various media by David McLimans.
While some of his works echo similar formal researches by artists like Mehdi Mo'eeni, Peter Clark,
Pesce Fresco and others, David seems to have a unique ability to make striking and stylish art in all sorts
of media, from digital illustration to collage, to sculpture made of natural materials and recycled junk.

McLiman has won awards for his editorial illustrations, which appear in many
important American publications, and he has published two children's book:
Gone Wild: An Endangered Animals Alphabet (2007 Caldecott Honor Book),
and Gone Fishing: Ocean Life by the Numbers.

I like the work with leaves and the collages. The Junk masks are fun too, I bet Hazel could do something similar with her students.
